Frequently asked questions

Good questions. A clearer road ahead.

A few useful answers before you plan your shipment. For questions about your specific trip, our dispatch team is the place to start.

Getting started

01How do I request a freight quote?

Use the Request a Quote page to enter your shipment type, pickup and delivery locations, freight details, preferred dates, and contact information. You will see a review screen with everything you entered; press Send Request to Dispatch and it reaches our team directly. You can also email dispatch@utopialogistics.ca or call +1 (437) 484-0017.

02What information should I have ready?

Have your pickup and delivery cities, provinces or states, postal or ZIP codes, and countries ready, along with what you are shipping and a preferred pickup date. Pallet or package count, dimensions, total weight, stackability, and the dock, forklift, liftgate, or appointment requirements at each end all help provide a clearer picture.

03Does completing the form book a shipment?

No. Preparing or sending an enquiry does not confirm a booking, a rate, or availability. Shipment arrangements must be discussed and confirmed with Utopia Logistics.

Coverage & services

01What is the difference between FTL and LTL?

Full truckload reserves a truck’s freight capacity for your shipment, so your goods travel on their own from pickup to delivery. Less than truckload uses part of a trailer shared with other customers’ freight, so shipments are combined and generally handled more in transit. FTL suits larger loads and freight that benefits from travelling separately; LTL suits smaller, well-packaged shipments.

02Does my shipment need to fill a truck to use FTL?

No. A shipment does not have to physically fill the trailer to travel as full truckload. FTL reserves the capacity rather than requiring you to fill it, and customers also choose it when freight is awkward to handle or is best kept away from other shipments.

03Where does Utopia Logistics operate?

Utopia Logistics is based in Milton, Ontario, Canada, and provides trucking transportation across North America. Contact dispatch about a specific pickup location, delivery destination, and preferred date. Route availability is confirmed individually.

04Can I enquire about cross-border transportation?

Yes. Include both countries and the pickup and delivery cities in your enquiry, along with your cargo details and timing. Cross-border is a route category, so the shipment may travel as either FTL or LTL. Customs brokerage and guaranteed border clearance are not advertised Utopia services.

05What if my shipment has special requirements?

Describe your freight and its requirements when you contact us, including anything you request on the quote form such as a liftgate or an appointment. These are treated as requests for us to assess, not confirmed services. Equipment, handling needs, and service suitability must all be confirmed. Specialised services such as refrigerated transport, hazardous goods, and customs brokerage are not advertised on this website.

Your quote request

01Has my request been sent when I see the review screen?

Not yet. The review screen is the last check before anything leaves your browser. Nothing is sent until you press Send Request to Dispatch. You can edit any detail first, or download a copy of the request for your own records.

02What happens after I send my request?

You are taken to a confirmation page, and your request reaches Utopia Logistics dispatch. A member of the team will contact you using the email address or phone number you provided, to discuss the shipment and confirm availability for your route. Sending a request does not confirm a booking, a rate, or route availability.

03Can I change details after sending an enquiry?

Yes. Email dispatch@utopialogistics.ca or call +1 (437) 484-0017 with the original pickup and delivery locations and the details that have changed, so the team can identify your enquiry. You can also send a fresh request and say that it replaces the earlier one.
